Reviews From Guests on AirBNB

Carol is a terrific hostess and runs a wonderful bed and breakfast! We communicated our need to arrive early, she said sure, and then she had everything ready upon our arrival. She made special accommodations that allowed us to have a stressless time away from our home. The inside and outside of the home is beautifully decorated, warm and inviting. The home was well stocked with treats and beverages for us to enjoy. The home is in a great location just outside of Charleston, SC away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but close enough to go into the city. Breakfast was delicious and was presented in a lovely fashion. Carol cooks foods specially for the guest to your liking. Along with the bananas foster french toast (delicious), eggs, bacon, fresh fruit parfait we had milk, juice, water, coffee and tea to compliment the meal. The home was comfortable and a place to sit back and relax. Even though the owner lives in the home, they have made a private area for the guest. That way they have their space and you have some of your own as well. I cannot image a better place to stay in the Charleston area. We enjoyed a wonderful weekend away from home in a home that is truly spectacular. We are looking forward to visiting again. Thanks Carol.

Carol is such a gracious host and cooked the most delicious breakfasts for us! She is very easy to get in touch with, friendly and welcoming. The B&B was always spotless and the front porch is the perfect place to sit and enjoy some sweet tea (or something a bit stronger.) We enjoyed getting to know Carol, her husband, and the other couple staying at Caroline’s while we were at breakfast together each morning. If you’re looking for a real home away from home, this is it!

The Gardens Room at Carol’s gorgeous place is unmatched. It oozes European elegance and Southern charm. The bed is so comfortable, the room airy and expansive, and Carol’s inspired touch is around every corner. The entire, gracious home is immaculate. She thinks of everything! Carol and her husband are warm and welcoming–we felt like family even though we only stayed one night! I recommend staying here for as long as possible! You won’t regret it. Check out the front porch swing and stay awhile… also, can you say “plush robes?” Genius touch. If you feel daring, you can even wear them to the breakfast table that features a full formal spread each morning and bountiful, made-from-scratch dishes. Divine! This is a five-star B&B experience from start to finish.

Great place to stay. Spotlessly clean, impeccably decorated, cool, quiet and comfortable. Short walk to downtown Summerville restaurants and parks. Unfortunately was visiting town for family illness. Caroline’s provided a welcome shelter from the storm. Great hosts.

The experience was wonderful! The room was great, very cozy and had awesome hot water (great pressure each day). Carol was a gem! She made us feel comfortable and at home. She served us breakfast each morning and it was very tasty. She was a wonderful host and I would recommend this establishment to any couple/individual coming to visit the Charleston/Summerville area.

We stayed here for our anniversary and we absolutely loved it! Carol was a wonderful host and we felt so comfortable at her home. Our room was decorated beautifully and the breakfast that she prepared was amazing. I highly recommend anyone visiting the Charleston area to plan their stay at Caroline’s B&B!

My husband and I stayed here for a quick weekend trip and absolutely loved it. Carol was such a gracious host and made sure that we always had anything and everything we needed along with gave suggestions of places to eat/things to do in the area even before we arrived! The accommodations were very comfortable and every little detail Carol puts into everything did not go unnoticed. Breakfast was absolutely delicious each morning. We both can not say enough good things about Carol and her home and we already can’t wait to return!

The online photos accurately represent the property- in fact, I would say it looked even better in person if that were possible. The bedrooms and bathrooms are nicely furnished and very charming. There were also many unexpected amenities that added a nice touch- chocolate by the bedside, ice bucket and ice machine for use, shampoo, soap, etc. The dining room is very elegant and Carol made a lovely breakfast each morning. My only regret was the heat in Charleston made it impossible to enjoy the lovely porch outside that Carol has- otherwise, I could have been out there for hours!

Carol was a most gracious host. Her home was warm and inviting with the front porch as the gathering place for good conversation with Carol, her husband and other guests during the evening hours and rainy days. I highly recommend a stay at Caroline’s B&B in historic Summerville.

Carol was in touch ahead of time with me about arrival, food needs and more, and was vert accommodating. The BnB is lovely, on a quiet road with nice houses close to town. It was elegant and very comfortable; the bed and sheets were supreme! There is a little anteroom shared by other guests with ice, fridge, maps, books, movies and info for local restaurants and activities. Carol offered the perfect blend of privacy and hospitality. I wish I could’ve stayed longer to enjoy the sweet front porch, write in the little BR nook, breathe in the nice country air and explore the interesting town.

THE place to stay if you’re planning to go to Charleston and the surroundings. This house is an amazing place, close enough to Charleston, Magnolia and Boone Hall plantations and the beaches, and in a nice neighbourhood to rest from the day. You just feel like home in the cosy interior after a day of visiting around. The front porch is welcoming you to stay outside, the sofas in the living room or my favorite is the large soft bed covered with pillows. Breakfast was a divine American home made cooking, with eggs, toasts, muffins, waffles and fresh fruits. Delicious! Carol saved our holidays by welcoming us from a morning cancellation from a Charleston hotel and we stayed at her home for 2 days. I definitely keep her address to direct all my friends there! Her presence and warmth from the South and the Midwest made us feel so welcome. Please come to Bordeaux if you come to Europe, I’d be happy to take you around!

Response from Carol:
Annabel you are a sweetheart! If I should be lucky enough to travel abroad, I would love that more than anything! Thank you and we truly enjoyed your stay! Safe travels to you and your family!

My family and I had an amazing experience with Carol and her husband during our Spring Break/Easter visit to SC. The house was absolutely impeccable and a perfect location to downtown area restaurants and shops. The front porch was to die for and where I spent the majority of my time! The daily breakfast was very good and service was first class. The best part for me was the personal touch that Carol added to our stay with little treats for my daughters for Easter, they loved it! We will be back for sure!

Response from Carol:
Michael thank you so much for such a nice review! We so enjoyed you and your family, especially your sweet daughters! We look forward to being your host again!

Melissa
What an amazing place to stay! The host went out of her way to ensure everything we needed (and then some) was taken care of. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast and already planning our next trip!

This little surprise in Summerville had me blown away. The rooms are exquisite, the place is sparkling clean. The hosts are delightful, the breakfast is excellent. It’s actually better than many of the fine lodges I’ve stayed at. I would recommend this B&B without hesitation. I intend to continue to stay here on my trips to Summerville. Thank goodness, no more hotels for me.

Carol and Jerry are lovely hosts. They have thought of every detail. The Oceanside room was beautiful and very comfortable. The beds are like sleeping on a cloud! They provide all the comforts of home with all the luxury of a fist class hotel. Just a perfect combination. They made us feel very welcome. We would recommend this bed and breakfast to all our friends!

“We just enjoyed our second stay at Caroline’s Bed and Breakfast. Once again both Carol and Jerry made us feel special. We were excited to visit Charleston again, but we were just as excited to stay at Caroline’s. We love the special touches in each room and the cleanliness is amazing. We were amazed during our second visit that Carol remembered some things that we loved during our first visit – like hot tea in the evening. We had a beautiful array of teas waiting for us in our lovely bedroom. We are not early risers, but we make sure we wake up to enjoy Carol’s amazing breakfast each morning! Caroline’s Bed and Breakfast is a short drive to Charleston; however, Summerville is a wonderful town with great restaurants. We are already planning a Christmas visit! Thank you Carol and Jerry.

Wow

Where do I begin? The home is beautiful. We honestly thought Google maps had sent us to a private home, and it was too good to be true. Like I said before, the home is beautiful. The home has a good feel (vibe) and is very welcoming. We arrived very late, but Ms. Caroline was up and greeted us. Immediately we felt like family and not guests. We had complete freedom to the front of the home. Once in our room we were blown away. Beautiful decor, clean and elegant, but not over the top. Every possible detail was taken care of, from bathrobes to q-tips. It really felt like we were at home. We had to take pictures. We walked around a bit and explored the rest of the home. After an hour of quiet comfortable sitting on the front porch we went to bed. We woke up and had breakfast. Healthy and delicious. We talked with Ms. Caroline for a bit and then we headed to Charleston. We returned after a good outing and enjoyed some much needed sleep. Woke up the next morning to another great breakfast. Talked with Ms. Caroline and met her husband, Mr. Jerry. Ended breakfast and got ready to ship out. We thank you for making us feel welcomed. We will definitely return and enjoy another amazing weekend.

Sincerely,

The Howell’s & Cazares families.

  1. My sister and I stayed here a month ago and found the place utterly delightful. Carol treats people like friends. She listens to who you are and what you need or want, which far surpasses any place I’ve ever stayed before. She has exquisite taste, too, creating a relaxing yet luxurious decor. We felt like royalty in the best of ways. Her breakfasts not only were healthy, they were delicious. She and her husband have worked hard to create a pleasurable experience for guests. She was also very welcoming to our parents who live in Summerville and came over for a visit. They’re in their mid-80s, and we all had a great conversation. The area is very walkable, too. A pretty park is nearby, and the B&B is in a downtown neighborhood, so one could easily walk to downtown.
